Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Palanto, operated by Alvaro Soto ("we," "us," "our"), collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Palanto mobile application ("App"). By using the App, you agree to this Policy.
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide
- Account information: email address, username, display name, and optional profile bio.
- Content you upload: photos and videos you record and post, along with any captions and the event you associate them with.
- Reactions and interactions: reactions you give to content (hearts, thumbs up/down) and records of content you download.
- Reports: if you report content or block a user, we record that action so we can act on it.
Information collected automatically
- Location data: we use your device's location to find live events near you and to associate your content with the correct event. Location is used only while you are using the App.
- Device & usage data: basic technical information needed to operate the App (e.g., app version, error logs).
- Media metadata: photos and videos may contain embedded metadata such as the time captured and, depending on your device settings, location coordinates.
Information from third parties
- Event data is provided by SeatGeek to power event discovery. Your use of event listings may be subject to SeatGeek's own terms and privacy practices.
2. Photos, Videos & the Likeness of Others
Important. Palanto is a community sharing app. Content you upload to an event becomes available for download by other users who also attended and contributed to that same event, in its original recorded form.
- Photos and videos taken at public events may capture other people who have not consented to being recorded or shared.
- You are responsible for the content you capture and upload, including obtaining any consent that may be legally required where you are.
- Do not upload content that is unlawful, that violates others' privacy or publicity/likeness rights, or that depicts individuals in a manner they have not agreed to.
- If you appear in content uploaded by someone else and want it removed, contact us at the email below and we will act on valid requests.
3. How We Use Information
- To create and manage your account.
- To find nearby events and group content by event.
- To enable the core feature: contributing content to an event and downloading other attendees' content from that same event.
- To operate the reaction and reputation system and to surface higher-quality content.
- To detect, prevent, and respond to abuse, objectionable content, and violations of our terms.
- To maintain, troubleshoot, and improve the App.
4. How We Share Information
- With other users: your username, display name, profile bio, reputation, and the content you post to an event are visible to other users, and your content is downloadable by other contributors to that event.
- With service providers: we use third-party infrastructure to operate the App, including Supabase (authentication, database, and media storage). These providers process data on our behalf.
- For legal reasons: we may disclose information if required by law or to protect rights, safety, or the integrity of the App.
- We do not sell your personal information.
5. Your Choices & Rights
- Delete your account: you can permanently delete your account and associated content at any time from within the App (Profile → Delete Account).
- Delete content: you can delete content you have posted from within the App.
- Access: you may request a copy of your data by emailing us.
- Location: you can disable location access in your device settings, though this will limit event discovery.
- Report & block: you can report objectionable content and block abusive users within the App.
- Depending on where you live (e.g., the EEA/UK under GDPR, or California under CCPA/CPRA), you may have additional rights regarding your personal data. Contact us to exercise them.
6. Data Retention
We retain your account information and content while your account is active. When you delete content or your account, we remove it from our active systems within a reasonable period, subject to backups and any legal obligations. Note that content already downloaded by other users onto their own devices is outside our control and cannot be retrieved by us.
7. Children's Privacy
The App is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
8. Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. International Users
We are based in the United States and process data there and in the regions where our service providers operate. By using the App you consent to the transfer and processing of your information in those locations.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. We will revise the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the App.
